STATUTES OF LIMITATIONS IN KANSAS

Statutes of limitations are time limits imposed on claims in which a party may obtain damages. If the statute of limitations has run on a claim, this bars a party from relief on that claim. That is, if a person has been involved in a car accident which was the fault of the other driver, they have two years to bring a claim against the other driver in court. If more than two years have passed, then that person cannot bring a claim against the faulty driver. That is, they have lost their ability to sue them.
